Equality Under the Law

I believe in the inherent value of each individual and the rights of every resident of this country, no matter their age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, expression, or religion. I will seek to support and advance legislation that protects our community members from any systemic discrimination in their day-to-day life.

I will:

  • Support the Equality Act to enshrine anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people in employment, housing, credit, education, and numerous other areas.
  • Support and co-sponsor HR 15: Equality Act which prohibits discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation or gender identity with respect to business, employment, housing, federally funded programs, and other settings.
  • Support a bipartisan effort to push for ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).
  • Support legislation to confront the recent rise in anti-Semitism and Islamaphobia. Hate and bigotry have no home here.
